Our mentorship committee consists of individuals that we have developed personal relationships with as a family and have participated with in ministry. We see their professional experience and knowledge on important aspects of our future ministry as vital to our success in Berlin and we hope to rely on their guidance to pursue gospel centered programs and activities.
Teaching and Discipleship
Greg Mazak graduated from Ohio State--which is where he believed the gospel and became a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. With degrees in psychology (OSU), counseling (Clemson), and Bible (BJU), Greg serves on the biblical counseling faculty at Bob Jones University. Greg is the teaching pastor of Trinity Bible Church of Greer where he has served on staff for over 25 years. Greg and Nancy have been married over 30 years and have been blessed with 3 daughters--and their first grandson!
Missions and Evangelism
Jerry McCorkle is a graduate of Bob Jones University. For the past 12 years Jerry has pursued evangelism as the executive director of Spreadtruth Ministries located in Normal, Illinois. Spreadtruth is committed to using technology to advance the gospel into the world's hard to reach places through emerging platforms that are accessible through smartphone technology. Their hopes are to create gospel literature and media that transcend cultural barriers and reach the world for the gospel. Jerry has also been highly involved in urban evangelism and has consistently run ministry trips to New York City and Chicago for the past 15 years. He is married to Genie McCorkle.
Jesse McCormick joined Bob Jones University as the Bruin men’s head soccer coach and on faculty in the division of Health, Exercise and Sport Science in 2012. Jesse views sports as a valuable platform to spread the gospel. He encourages his players to use the realm of athletics as a witness and testimony for God. Jesse has experience in running youth soccer camps and clinics through a variety of ministries. He has been privileged to travel to Brazil six times on soccer mission teams and most recently led the BJU men's soccer team on a mission trip to Brazil in May 2016. Jesse and his wife, Kimberly, have a son, and live in Greenville, SC.
With 38 years of experience, Gary is well-respected for his knowledge of complex tax and accounting rules. He is a licensed certified public accountant in South Carolina and Florida, as well as a member of the American Institutes of CPAs and the South Carolina Association of CPAs. In addition to managing his firm, he devotes time to continuing education and research to develop tax-saving strategies. When not in the office, you truly might find Gary anywhere. He also enjoys leading mission teams around the world through his church and Impacting America, a mission organization based out of Greenville, SC.
